Softwood Timbers

Softwoods have a very wide range of applications in woodworking and building construction. The primary material for structural building is softwood. Softwood is also used in paper production and furniture building.
Softwood timbers come from coniferous (needle-bearing) trees such as pine, cedar, fir, and redwood. Softwoods are generally easy to work with and are more uniform than most hardwoods.
Almquist Lumber is proud to offer Western Red Cedar and Port Orford Cedar in addition to Redwood timbers. These cedars and redwoods are exceptionally resistant to decay.
